Happiness is a feeling we all recognise—found in moments of joy, adventure, hard work, travel, family, and, of course, food.
After many years working across the United Kingdom, we decided to create a venture of our own and chose Rutland as the place to call home. Inspired by my roots in Rajasthan—a land of kings, royalty, and a rich culinary legacy—we set out to bring bold, authentic Indian flavours to our local community.
Our journey began in 2019 as a small takeaway in Oakham. What started humbly soon grew into something much more, as our customers became friends and our friends became family. In 2023, we took a significant step forward by introducing the JASHIR brand and moving to the high street. This growth continued with the opening of our second branch in Spalding in mid-2024, followed by our third location in Long Sutton towards the end of 2025.
JASHIR is more than a name—it is my world. It is formed from the names of my two children, my son Jash and my daughter Hir. Together, JASHIR represents happiness in Indian culture.
That meaning defines everything we do.
